At home 🏡, we get help from a young man 👨 in his 30s to iron our clothes. While the complete lockdown was going on in Nagpur, he called me for medical advice for his elder 🧓 brother. I examined him in my clinic and gave medicine for his high BLOOD Pressure. But he continued to have a breathing problem, and we referred him to Government hospital as per rules. After five days, he came home 🏡 to tell me that his brother expired due to some lung infection other than Corona. Now he was left with all burdens of his family and to perform the last rites of his brother.
We immediately offered financial help enough to carry all last rites and sufficient food for two months for his family.
After the lockdown was over, he called my home caretaker saying he wanted to end his life as he had no job and is unable to take care of his family.
Immediately I called him, and gave him financial help and asked him to start ironing our clothes so that he can sustain his livelihood.
With tears in his eyes, he accepted the help and was not able to speak at all.
I have made sure we call him at least twice a week to collect clothes for ironing 😊.
