Ever since Black Lotus has been launched I have tried to follow a kindness regime. And honestly, I have been doing without any expectation. But I want to emphasize on an important point: what goes around comes around, kindness or otherwise. Yesterday evening after I came from the office I parked my bike on the road, an open community road and went upstairs to get hold of my daughter. I got on with my regular play with her and ended my day as usual. Today morning a person rang my bell. When I opened the door, he handed me my bike keys. He mentioned that while taking night walk at 12 in the night he noticed that I had left the keys on the bike without locking the handle ( an open invitation to thieves to take away my bike). It was only last week the police visited every house in our colony as there have been more than 350 thefts in the past year. Had it not been for this person’s kindness my bike would have been stolen for sure. While I had been not alert from my end, nature took care of me through this kind person. I was overwhelmed with gratitude after such a kind act from him. It motivates me more to continue being kind. If everyone continues to do their bit, eventually we will have a self-sustainable kindness fraternity taking care of one another.
Black Lotus is a global initiative to spread goodness and peace through meditation and Random Acts of Kindness (Raks). This grand movement is inspired and led by Om Swami.
