I feel that it is not the big public gestures but rather very small, almost unnoticeable acts of kindness that gives a glimpse of a person’s essence.
As it happened, I was visiting my brother after a long time. One day my sister-in-law(SIL) and I decided to go for some shopping.
It was almost evening when we stopped an auto to go back home. My SIL told the driver, that on the way we will need to stop at a shop for 5 minutes. She told me that it was a shop famous in the city for its bite-sized fresh crispy samosas.
When we reached the shop, she went inside and after a few minutes came out with two packets. She handed one to the auto driver telling that it’s almost tea time and he must be tired of the whole day work. The driver politely accepted the packet but the look on his face at that instant was priceless.
Suddenly his whole demeanour lit up. He cheerfully asked us what songs we liked and then made sure that we are treated to our favourites all the way home.
