It was one of those chilly and windy evenings a couple of days ago. I was rushing towards the nearest Timmy’s for my favorite coffee. The cold was biting, and I couldn’t wait to get in. At the door stood a man carrying a placard saying he’s homeless, and any help was welcome. I noticed he was having a large coffee. Thank God, at least he has a hot drink, I thought as I hurried inside to escape the cold.
Just as I was ordering my coffee, it struck me that I should have been kind to the poor guy. I rushed outside and asked him if I could get him something. He smiled, thanked me, and said, “Everything Bagel, with cream cheese, toasted.” I handed him his Bagel, and he sat down and had it right there, in the warmth. I was happy that I didn’t miss the opportunity to be kind.
