It was our annual trip to India, and we were discussing options for the birthday celebrations of my niece and my daughter. Since we didn’t want the usual kind of party, my sister-in-law came up with the beautiful idea of celebrating it with underprivileged kids. She said that she could arrange it with the help of her colleagues. We thought we would start the year by celebrating with the kids from the missionary school nearby. Our children, too, seemed to like the idea and suggested a McDonald’s Happy Meal for the little ones.
The children at the school were informed that we would be coming and were excitedly waiting for us. We handed out the meal to them, and they said Grace before eating and thanked both our children. I must say the place had wonderful vibes, and the teachers had taught good values to the kids.
It was indeed touching for us to see the delight in the eyes of the little ones – there couldn’t be a better way to start the year.
